While at times it may seem otherwise, Biff Henderson's true role on Late Show is behind the camera. As David Letterman's stage manager, Biff has built a lasting relationship with the host, beginning with the morning variety program, The David Letterman Show in 1980 and continuing to the current Late Show with David Letterman.

In front of the camera, Biff has received his share of attention on Late Show. Besides being the subject of countless viewer mail segments on David's Late Night, Biff has appeared as Dick Tracy, a Beatle, a clown, in a gold Egyptian headdress, as a Vegas showgirl, roasting Kermit the Frog, and recklessly driving "Biff Henderson's Golf Cart of Death."

Biff began his career with NBC in the early '70s in the radio network sales department. He then worked in television production before taking jobs as stage manager of the World Series and various space shuttle missions.

Born James Jackson Henderson Jr. in Durham, North Carolina, he acquired the nickname Biff from his mother when her friend had a dream involving a boy named Biff. Biff lives in New York.
